The Lovercamps

members of the Lovercamp family

The Lovercamp family farm in rural Alma, Missouri, has been the site of many family adventures and memories and is where Steve and Amy have raised their five children, four sons, Shane, Cody, Casey, and Torrey and a daughter, Christina, and have welcomed four daughter-in-law’s, Ashley, Annie, Jessica, and Rhiannon and five grandchildren, Lucy, Claire, Ruby, Kalija, and Kane, to the family. In addition to their children the farm has kept them busy over the years raising swine, beef cattle, and row crops of soybeans and corn.

Their family, like any other farm family, has had its share of mishaps but one particular incident renewed many memories and is where their family history with PH began again. In November 2014, Steve collapsed while working cattle with his son – a fall that would lead to a diagnosis of a specific form of PH, pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

What is PH?

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare, life-threatening disease affecting the arteries of the lungs that can lead to right heart failure. Let Us Be Your Lungs was created to promote PH awareness and to raise essential funds needed to aid in research efforts.

We're here to bring much needed awareness of PH, and provide opportunity for fellow PH patients to share their story, an avenue for PH resources, a registration link to our fundraising initiatives and for potential donors and sponsors to learn more about PH and what Let Us Be Your Lungs PHights for.
